I am a counselling psychologist in Pretoria East in private practice at Satori Health Centre.  I work with adolescents, young adults, adults, groups and couples with a variety of difficulties and life challenges.  I am interested in the human condition and the challenges, limitations and potentials inherent.  I believe therapy should be a collaborative process in which space is created for the individual to explore the aspects of their individual human experience in order for transformation to occur.

I prefer a non-pathologising and strength affirming approach wherein the individual's internal and external world is explored to discover meaning and purpose and to create balance.  I aim to find solutions and I believe these solutions are to be found within the individual.

I mainly work from a psychodynamic  approach with a special interest in Jungian psychology, attachment theory and existential psychology.  My focus is holistic which means an important part of therapy is to engage and develop the person as a whole - incorporating the emotional, social, physical, cultural and spiritual dimensions.

Work Experience

I completed my internship at Stabilis Treatment Centre in 2010.  I received a bursary from the Department of Correctional Services and upon completion of my internship I started working at Zonderwater Correctional Centre near Cullinan.  Working with adult offenders for six years allowed me to learn and experience the extent of the human condition and that finding meaning, understanding and purpose is possible within the darkest of stories. I have been in private practice since 2017.
